Speed of Light Edinburgh worked closely with partners Capability Scotland to develop a route for wheelchair athletes to take part wearing specially designed light suits, navigating the terrain in specially designed off-road wheelchairs in teams of three.
“Being involved with the Speed of Light project has been a fantastic new experience for me. I have been up Arthur Seat in April with a group of volunteers. That was during the day, this time it was twilight, making it more exciting. It gave me a chance to access a part of Edinburgh that I thought I would never thought was possible!”
“I enjoyed my evening that I took part in the Speed Of Light (22nd Sept). It was amazing to do in the dark a great experience – would love to do it again if the opportunity came my way. Just had a wicked time.”
“I love being in the outdoors because of the freedom I feel and the sense of adventure which goes with it. By being involved with the Speed of Light I want to encourage everyone in Scotland disabled or not to explore our country and that disability shouldn’t be a barrier”
