Running

Speed of Light Ruhr was an exciting, once in a lifetime opportunity for experienced endurance runners to take part in night-time performances in six remarkable locations across the Emscher Landschaftspark. On each performance night, 120 runners in LED light suits created choreographed patterns of light across two key sites, running a distance of up to 18km between each location.

Runners took part in technical and dress rehearsals before the performance dates, working closely with the Speed of Light Ruhr choreographer and Run Leaders, and were involved in running activity for 11 nights over a two week period. Speed of Light Ruhr was an endurance event, about stamina rather than speed, and long-distance runners from across the Ruhr region registered to be part of this experience.
